Code of Conduct

For Players

Hey, welcome to Skilld, we’re glad you have joined us! Skilld is all about helping young people become the best athletes they want to become. Part of being a good athlete is the way we conduct ourselves, both on and off the field. We expect those in our community—the players, parents, and coaches—to act with the best interests of others in mind. We know that most people engaging with others on Skilld will naturally understand how we should treat one-another, we want to make sure our expectations are clear. We also want to be clear that we won't tolerate bullying, abuse, or intolerance. Anyone displaying such behaviours will have their accounts deactivated.

For the parents and carers: These guidelines apply to us all, but we’ve written them specifically towards your children. We strongly encourage you to talk about these guidelines with them.

None of this is very complicated, and most of you will easily agree with this Code of Conduct, however, if you have any questions about it, please feel free to send us a message at support@passionsports.co.uk.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Be respectful

Be Respectful

You’ll mostly be interacting with a coach who has years of experience working with athletes at every level. When you are interacting with them, show them the respect you expect they’ll show you. This includes how you ask questions and make statements. Even when we disagree, we expect each other to find kind and respectful ways of communicating.

Be appropriate

Be Appropriate

Just like when you show up to practice with your club, or with your school, it’s important that we act appropriately. Always wear appropriate clothing (shorts and t-shirts, for example), use appropriate language (no swearing or or talking about things you wouldn’t talk about in front of your gran), and be on-topic (yes, that new event that is happening in your favourite game is super fun to talk about, but save it for another time).

Mind your privacy

Mind Your Privacy

In many ways, Skilld is an extension of your regular training, but unlike your club (and probably your school), it takes place online. We take every precaution to ensure your safety, and we make sure our coaches are reputable and capable, but it’s a good practice to always mind your privacy when interacting online with people you don’t know. Avoid sharing your full name, where you live, what school you go to, or where you normally hang out. Also, when you’re making videos to send to your coach, try to avoid including anyone else in the video. This helps protect their privacy as well.
